Linesmans No.2 Hut

Located on the slopes of Round Mountain. Destroyed in the 2003 fies.

Also known as Telegraph, Round Mountain, and SMC.

Brief History

This hut was built in the 1950s by the SMA (Snowy Mountains Authority) for powerline mainenance.

It was partly burnt in 1988, but restored fully by the SES as an emergency radio base.

Construction

The hut is 3m by 3.4m. It is built of corrugated iron on a sawn timber frame. It has a wooden floor and caneite lining, and is installed with a stove.
