Disappointment Spur Hut

Located above Munyang on a fire trail, north of Guthega.

Also known as Aqueduct Shelter Number 2.

Brief History

This hut was built as a survey shelter by the SMA in the 1950's and, unusually, they used two modules to build the one hut. The surrounding snowgum forest was killed in the 2003 bushfires and the toilet destroyed but miraculously the only damage to the hut was a slight bowing of a perspex window pane! NPWS are yet to replace the toilet.

Construction

The hut is made of weatherboards and lined with a wooden floor. It has a flat roof of iron and two windows. There is a toilet nearby.
